Tsunami - A Collaboration with Andrea Leese

DSC_4249.jpg

For years I fought against the waves.

Again, and again, I found the strength

to dive through them –

whenever another one caught me

and tried to drown me with its suction.

But as the years passed, I felt my strength fading.

My breath was no longer enough for every wave.

And so it came to pass that my lungs

filled with more and more water

and I menaced to sink.

Without strength, only my head

a few times above the water.

Then, all of a sudden, the tsunami rolled in.

With my eyes widened in fright and my mind awake

I saw it coming towards me.

I had nothing, absolutely nothing to oppose it with.

It sucked me into its depths. Finally.
