All aboard… next stop, college!

A senior photoshoot is a great way to mark the end of a chapter in our kids’ lives. But how could this have happened so fast? I blinked, and they’re all grown up! I know what you’re thinking. Of course, as moms, we want to stop time and hope they stay as little as much time possible. But that’s the beauty of photography. It captures a particular moment in your life, so when you look back, you’ll be happy and cherish all those beautiful memories.

So in this blog post, I’ll talk about some tips for photographing your seniors, when to do it, and more about Nate and Sam’s photoshoot.

Tips for Senior Photoshoot.

One of the first things you need to think about is their schedule. Between college applications, tours, and getting everything ready to go to college, the most important thing is to save a spot in your senior’s calendar to photograph. Make sure to book your session within a month in advance, at least, to give them time to prepare and organize their time.

Another thing I recommend for seniors is to pick an outfit they love that can describe their personality and why not, that can tell what they will be studying at college. The best thing is to get creative and let the camera capture your personality.

The third tip is location. It’s not necessary to photograph you at school or your house. Instead, think about your favorite place and hobbies and some places you’ll miss when you leave for college.

Last but not least, relax. A photoshoot is all about having fun! Communicate with your photographer to feel the most comfortable at the photo shoot. Tell them what you envision and how’d you like to be portrayed.

Now let’s talk all about this photoshoot!

Nate and Sam are twins with different personalities. They’re seniors and heading to college next year. I wanted to highlight their personalities and traits and capture them as unique individuals.

One of the key aspects of this photo shoot was the location. We chose a place that reflected these significant moves in their lives, so we went to the Southeastern Railway Museum. The concept was: “Life is a journey, not a destination,” While you may have ups and downs throughout life, you can always count on your best buddy to walk by your side. 

We picked different poses to make these guys comfortable, and I was very proud of the final result.
