Loneliness - A collaboration with Andrea Leese

Loneliness

Lonely

She stands there

The lights of the city shine on

Where just a moment ago

The sky was blue

Night descends on a day

That was so full of movement

So full of life

Forlorn

She looks at the sea

Pale moon gleams

On the wet sand of

The falling tide

Now

She is alone

In a night

So full of darkness

So full of loneliness

Lost

She ruminates

Noises of the city

Fading behind her

Flooded by the rippling water

She can't find herself

In this labyrinth

That’s called life

Exhausted

She breathes the night

Overcome by loneliness

Tears trickle down her cheeks

Fall to the ground

Uniting with the wet sand

Filling the emptiness of the night

Suddenly

She hears a voice

The moon's glow

Caresses her soul

Like a promise

For as the tides

Comes and go

So does loneliness

Come and go

After a time of emptiness

Fullness returns
